Customer Health and Safety
We are committed to delivering consistent and best-in-class products and services to our customers. We continue to improve quality of product offerings and store appearance as well as upgrade service platforms to further enhance overall dining experience. Our commissaries are Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified and equipped with modern technological breakthroughs on food processing, handling and safety.
Supplier/Contractor Selection Practices
We forge long-term and mutually-beneficial arrangements with business partners who share in our standards on quality, cost and best practices. We transact with suppliers who provide high quality and competitively priced products and services. Suppliers are required to undergo accreditation which includes ocular inspection of their facilities, submission of audited financial statements and background referencing. Our Supply Chain group facilitates an open, fair and transparent biddings and selection process of suppliers in accordance with the Company’s policies.
Environmentally Friendly Value Chain
We abide by environmental laws in the conduct of our business. We promote sustainability practices in the delivery of our products and services. Our raw materials are sourced from reputable suppliers who strongly adhere to sound environmental practices.
Community Interaction
We are mindful of the impact that our restaurants have in its location. We consider our stores as places of convergence that build and nurture relationships among surrounding communities. We regularly launch various product promotions, provide employment opportunities and relief aid in times of calamity in the communities where we operate.
Anti-Corruption Programs and Procedures
We strongly support the government’s anti-corruption drive and efforts towards transparency and nation-building. We do not engage in any form of corruption both in the public and private sector. We maintain transparency with all our dealings with the government and other entities. We regularly touch base with local government units on initiatives that would uplift the quality of life of residents surrounding our restaurants.

Employee Health, Safety, Welfare and Compensation
Employees are urged to avail of annual physical examination and regular vaccination against flu, cervical cancer and other diseases. The Company maintains an in-house clinic with a nurse on duty that provide medicines and first aid assistance to all employees. During cases when an employee acquires a communicable disease, mandatory medical clearance from a certified doctor must be obtained prior to reporting for work. Commissary-based employees are required to wear protective gear and observe strict standards on sanitation.
In 2015, Max’s Group recorded a total of 449,816 safety man hours in its production facility with no major incidents reported. The Company organizes wellness events such as health caravans and sporting leagues to promote work-life balance and foster camaraderie amongst colleagues. The Company also has a compensation policy for employees that account for corporate performance beyond short-term financial measures.
Employee Training and Development
Max’s Group offers training programs designed to upgrade and optimize skills of its talent base. These cover courses on leadership, customer service, technical knowledge, communication, character-building, business integrity and corporate governance. In 2015, the Company conducted a total of 10,715 training hours for 5,890 participants in various programs across all levels.
Whistleblowing Policy
This policy protects concerned individuals or parties who report observed malpractices or unethical business behavior to persons of authority, without fear of retaliation, through secured platforms such as electronic mail, telephone, facsimile or pre-arranged meetings. The whistleblowing policy covers all employees of the Company including subsidiaries, strategic business units, affiliates and service providers. Nonetheless, this policy does not cover personal grievances, which may be coursed through Department Managers or Human Resources in accordance with existing company guidelines. he identity of the whistleblower shall not be disclosed without his or her due consent.
Management shall observe strict confidentiality and store all information obtained in written form duly signed by the whistleblower. All legitimate concerns shall be dealt and accorded with proper action. The whistleblower is entitled to receive feedback depending on the progress of the investigations. If the whistleblower raises a genuine concern in good faith, he or she will not be held liable in case the whistleblower is proven to be incorrect. Complaints received anonymously shall be considered but will not necessarily prompt an investigation. Employees are encouraged to raise relevant issues to their respective Department Managers. Should managers be suspected as the source of any malpractice or unethical business activity, employees may elevate concerns to their corresponding Department or SBU Head. In any case, if the employee wishes to elevate matters to a person of authority independent of his or her department, the Head of Human Resources, Compliance Officer, Legal Counsel or Head of Internal Audit may be sought directly.
